Skimming and scanning are similar but distinct reading skills. Students benefit from being able to preview material and rapidly locate key information. This lesson provides student with practice applying both skills. The Skimming and Scanning lesson includes a definition, an explanation of how the skill is used, an example, and practice questions about engaging texts.
