Product Description

Reading Dailies builds students’ reading skills by breaking down complex reading into small, more manageable tasks. The program is supplemental and is designed to complement other instruction within the daily reading block. The program fits alongside use of a basal text or a series of novels, either reinforcing or adding key skill instruction, thus enabling students to become independent readers.

More Information

The Reading Dailies program has a variety of components that make it thorough yet versatile for any classroom environment. Each of the 19 units can be easily opened as a PDF or HTML lesson for online or offline use. Each unit in the Reading Dailies program has 3, 4, or 5 individual lessons that are designed to be completed in a single week. Each unit starts by introducing the main strategy and the key skills embedded within it. Each lesson within a unit is designed to take about one day and requires students to read and reread a passage and write about it. By breaking a larger standard down into smaller skills, students can master them one at a time to build understanding. A Checkpoint Assessment assesses students’ understanding of the main strategy at the end of each week, giving teachers the summative data needed to assess whether students have mastered the skills.
